A practical place for emerging technology
Adrian's Sandbox Labs is a technology research and development studio focused on experimenting with emerging software, artificial intelligence, connected devices, and new computing platforms. We build prototypes, evaluate technologies, and explore practical applications for new ideas.
The purpose is to understand how new technologies behave outside a product announcement: how they fit together, what constraints matter, and whether an idea has a practical application in consumer software and devices.
Why a sandbox?
A sandbox is a place to experiment without assuming the outcome. It creates a bounded environment where an idea can be tried, a failure can be examined, and the next question can become more precise.
For the lab, that means small prototypes, explicit assumptions, repeatable tests, and a record of what remains unknown. The value of an experiment is what it helps us understand, even when the original approach does not work.
Connected to everyday computing
Our scope spans AI-enabled applications, connected devices, smart-home systems, consumer computing platforms, cloud infrastructure, and human-computer interaction. These areas meet in the products and experiences people use every day.
Software engineering makes ideas testable. Technology evaluation makes the tradeoffs visible. Documentation makes the reasoning available for the next iteration.
Clear about the stage of the work
The experiments and project outlines currently published here are labeled concepts. They describe proposed investigations and design directions, not shipped products, completed commercial engagements, or measured research outcomes.
